Students in French courses at THS will take the Grand Concours 2016 on Friday, March 11, 2016 (*date subject to change). The examination is a 60 minute examination and will be disseminated in French classes.

The Grand Concours is the National French Exam. At Triton High School, students in French courses take this exam. The exam takes place during the month of March. Results on this exam do NOT effect the students' grade in their THS French course, but their participation on the exam does count towards their participation grade for that day. It is, however, in the students' best interest to try their best on this exam, as awards are presented to those who place within the top 5-10%. This is the kind of accolade students may also wish to include on their résumés when applying to college or advanced language programs.

To find out more about this exam, please visit the official website: http://www.frenchteachers.org/concours/index.html
What material will students be tested on?
Each level of French has its own specifications. Please visit this site to find out what you must know for your level of French.

How can students prepare for this exam?
Students really do not need to study for this exam as it tests knowledge and abilities in French that are presented as part of their course curriculum. Students may wish, however, to review by completing exercises from past National French exams. For the listening scripts that accompagny the listening portions of past exams, see this website: http://www.frenchteachers.org/concours/Resources/gc_scripts.htm. After students have completed the exercises below, they may check their answers against the answer keys provided on this website: http://www.frenchteachers.org/concours/Resources/gc_keys.html
